About Us
Luangwa Child Development Agency (LCDA) is a child-centred, non-profit making, non-religious, non-political, Non-Governmental Organisation, working to support vulnerable children and communities of Luangwa Districts in the areas of Health, Safe Water provision, Early Childhood Development (ECD), Education, Livelihood and Child Protection.
Formed and registered in 2013, we’ve been a cornerstone of community support in Luangwa District for over a decade. Established to address the profound needs of vulnerable children, LCDA operates through a unique, community-owned model via its three community associations: Tigwilizane, Chikondwelelo, and Mandombe. This structure ensures grassroots participation and ownership of all interventions. LCDA is governed by a Board comprising parents and government technocrats, ensuring both community voice and technical oversight in policy formulation. The Board provides strategic direction and fiduciary oversight. Day-to-day operations and implementation of policies and programs are managed by a dedicated staff team led by the Executive Director .

Luangwa Skills Training Center
The establishment of the Luangwa Skills Training Centre represents a significant opportunity to address immediate skill gaps and promote long-term economic resilience and environmental sustainability in the district. By aligning training programs with community needs, addressing gender dynamics, and promoting environmentally conscious practices, the centre will aim to empower residents and foster sustainable development in Luangwa District. LCDA is highly indebted to ChildFund New Zealand, whose financial support has brought hope to the Luangwa community. The construction of the Skills Centre has motivated many youths, who have shown interest in enrolling once the centre opens. The project's success demonstrates the power of collaboration and community involvement in achieving development goals. Currently, the process of registration is yet to start being processed and once is done, the institution will be ready to start advertising the courses to be offered.
